Shipping Policy
All orders are shipped from our Whole Pets store location in Boulder, Colorado to the United States and Canada. (Other international orders will be accepted in the near future. We apologize for any inconvenience.)
Shipping costs are based on weight and distance. We use USPS Priority Mail, UPS Ground, UPS 3-Day Select, UPS 2nd Day, and UPS Next Day. With most products you can choose your preferred method of shipping. If you wish to have your order shipped to a P.O. Box, you must select USPS Priority Mail as your delivery method. To determine your shipping charges, simply add items to your shopping cart, enter your zip code and click on "procees".
All orders will ship within 48 hours of receipt, Monday through Friday, except for raw frozen food and bones, which only ship on Tuesdays. Occasionally, some products will be temporarily out of stock. If this is the case, we will ship those items as soon as they arrive or notify you if the wait will be longer than one week. If you would like to make a substitution, we are always happy to accommodate your preferences.
These are our estimated delivery times based on UPS and USPS shipping methods:
- USPS Priority Mail: Generally takes 2 to 3 days; Saturday delivery; least expensive method for packages weighing less than three pounds.
- UPS Ground: Generally takes 3 to 5 business days; least expensive method but longest delivery time. No weekend delivery.
- UPS 3-Day Select: Takes three business days (guaranteed). No weekend delivery. Required for frozen food and bones.
- UPS 2nd Day Air: Guaranteed 2nd business day delivery. No weekend deliveries.
- UPS Overnight: Guaranteed next business day delivery. No weekend deliveries.

Raw Frozen Food and Bones Shipping
Whole Pets requires a six-pound minimum order on all frozen goods. This includes food, bones, or any combination thereof. Each order will include a $15 shipping surcharge per box, which is charged for the special packaging, dry ice and additional shipping costs.
Shipping: All frozen raw food and bones will ship Tuesday via UPS delivery only. Please place your order by midnight Sunday to ensure we have adequate inventory. We will try to fill orders placed on Mondays if stock is available. Orders placed on Tuesday will be sent the following Tuesday.
All frozen foods must be shipped 3-Day Select, UPS 2nd Day Air or UPS Overnight as your delivery method. Once your order has shipped, please check your shipping confirmation email to see expected date of delivery.
Ordering Frozen and Non-Frozen Items: If your order includes frozen and non-frozen items, here are your shipping options:
- If you place one order, your frozen and non-frozen items will ship on the next Tuesday via frozen delivery methods (UPS 3-Day Select, UPS 2nd Day Air or UPS Overnight). - You may submit two orders, one for frozen and one for non-frozen items. Your non-frozen items will ship immediately via your choice of delivery method; your frozen items will be shipped the next Tuesday via frozen delivery methods (UPS 3-Day Select, UPS 2nd Day Air or UPS Overnight). Delivery Instructions: Please leave delivery instructions for USPS or UPS if you will not be available to accept your order in person. If your frozen food order will be left outside, please be sure it is kept out of direct sunlight. We guarantee your order will be frozen for three days from date of shipping.
